Here in the southern hemisphere, winter is in full swing. Days are short, dark, rainy and icy cold. But not to worry – today I’m sharing with you a joyful sunshine juice which will brighten up your gloomiest day!
This incredibly healthy juice is so easy to make and so delicious! And it only uses four ingredients: oranges, grapefruits, half a lemon and a small stick of ginger.
Let’s take a quick look at all the amazing health benefits hidden in these beautiful foods.
One medium-sized orange provides you with nearly 100% of your daily Vitamin C requirements (75mg per day for women and 90mg per day for men). Four oranges a day (about 250mg of Vitamin C) is the recommended dose for those wishing to increase resistance to infections, shorten the length of disease and reduce the severity of symptoms.
And an orange is so much more than the vitamin C that it is famous for! It also contains 170 phyto-chemicals that increase the power and complements the action of this vitamin in our bodies!
How much more healthful it is to enjoy a sweet juicy orange than to take the best vitamin C supplement man has to offer! You can’t get better than God’s beautifully-designed, amazingly-packaged, delightfully-juicy and nutritionally-crammed orange! 🙂
Surprisingly, grapefruits have only half the vitamin C of oranges. They are excellent for unblocking the arteries and keeping the blood clean. They are also excellent for complementing a weight-loss diet. Yes, it’s true – grapefruit juice helps you lose weight!
Lemons are just about on par with oranges when it comes to Vitamin C. Although the lemon promotes health in the entire body, it has a particularly noticeable effect on the blood. Lets Get Juicing!
Using a knife, begin by trimming the skin off all the oranges, grapefruits and lemon. Slice the juicy flesh up into bite-size chunks that will fit in your juicer chute. Don’t forget to trim the skin off the ginger as well!
Look at all that fresh goodness! I can’t get enough of citrus in winter – it literally makes my mouth water!

Once everything is all cut up, get your juicer set up and start juicing! Do not juice the peels. 🙂
One of my favourite things about this juice is the symphony of colours! That’s enough to cheer anyone up on a cold winter’s day!

- 4 oranges
- 2 grapefruits
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 thumbpiece ginger
- Trim the skin off all the oranges, grapefruits, lemon and ginger.
- Slice into bite-size chunks.
- Juice it all up!
- Drink fresh.
